With the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games to be held at venues across South East Queensland, Transport and Main Roads is preparing for the influx of athletes and visitors who will need to seamlessly move around the region. Additionally, the Olympic movement have effectively committed to making 2032 a Net-Zero Olympics. Julie Mitchell will speak at this special event outlining the preparations TMR has undertaken so far, and explaining how limiting transport emissions during the Olympics will provide an enduring legacy for the community.

Julie sets the future direction of the transport system in Queensland. She defines and shapes key strategies, policies and plans for an integrated transport system that supports the safe and efficient movement of people and goods, while driving value for the community.
She ensures the investment across road, rail and public transport, active transport, and freight networks is balanced as part of a single integrated transport network. Julie is a highly respected leader with over 30 years’ civil engineering experience which covers a broad range of transport related engineering and leadership roles including Chief Engineer for eight years.
