RA member Fulton Hogan has commenced preliminary works on a $42m package that will deliver the final section of Tasmania’s Midland Highway 10 Year Action Plan.
Funded jointly by the Federal and Tasmanian governments, this final section starts just north of Campbell Town and extends 20.8km to Epping Forest.
The packed being delivered by Fulton Hogan includes road widening, junction improvements, extending sealed shoulders, new overtaking lanes and the installation of a flexible safety barrier to enhance safety and prevent head-on collisions on the key passenger and freight connection between the state’s north and south.
It’s expected that all upgrade works delivered though the 10-year plan will be completed by summer 2024-25.
