A partnership between the Victorian Government, the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) and AFL Victoria will see coaches, players, and supporters from more than 1,000 Victorian football and netball clubs wear blue armbands this weekend to show their commitment to eliminating death and serious injury on our roads.
The third annual Road Safety Round comes as deaths on Victorian roads show a distressing increase compared with this time last year, particularly among young people and in regional communities.
The blue armbands will be available at local football clubs and provided to anyone who wants to demostrate their support.
Each armband also includes a QR code linking to stories shared by Victorians about why road safety matters to them.
