“The Government deserves credit for planning ahead of congestion rather than reacting after the event,” Roads Australia President, David Stuart-Watt, said today.
“As the Premier intimated in Parliament yesterday, now’s the time to be considering inter-generational infrastructure solutions that anticipate Hobart’s future growth and transport demands.”
Mr Stuart-Watt also welcomed the Government’s commitment to consult widely with the community and stakeholders about future transport infrastructure needs.
“An open and transparent consultation process is the first step to building bipartisan support for whatever infrastructure solution/s the investigation recommends,” he said.
