Bruce Bernhardt’s passion for technology and service has seen him thrive in many senior transportation roles, allowing him to drive change for the benefit of road agencies and the community.
With his strong engineering background, Bruce is a Principal Consultant at Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) provider Transmax, where he works with road agency customers to define their requirements and ensure that the ITS solutions delivered meet their needs.
Bruce was previously a Principal Technical Officer of ITS networks and Senior Advisor of Traffic Systems for Transport and Main Roads Queensland.
Bruce believes a great mentorship is grounded in mutual trust and is a two-way street for learning, with the mentor gaining insights into the next generation of leaders and learning from new technologies, techniques and ways of thinking.
Bruce holds an Advanced Diploma of Engineering (Electronics) and a Diploma of Telecommunications Engineering. He was awarded the National Emergency Medal for the Townsville 2019 floods as a key member of the District Emergency Management Team and the team leader of Traffic Operations.
