CLOCS-A consultation open

The Draft CLOCS-A (Construction Logistics and Community Safety – Australia) Standard was recently released for comment by the steering group overseeing the development of this new safety regime.

This is the local version of the well known UK CLOCS standard which has delivered a 47% reduction in the casualty rate and improves the relationship between the community and construction logistics.

Already there are a number of major transport construction projects in Australia that have implemented a CLOCS-like safety regime which has resulted in improvements to safety, especially for vulnerable road users, including the Sydney Metro and Melbourne Metro rail projects.

With the number of mega projects happening across Australia, the CLOCS-A standard when implemented will improve safety and hopefully deliver an increase in awareness, tolerance and understanding amongst all road users.

Consultation on the Draft Standard closes 9 January 2023.
