RA Constitution Review - Member Consultation Sessions
Roads Australia members will have an opportunity to approve a new Constitution at the November 24 Annual General Meeting.
The new proposed Constitution, which was shared with members on October 24, reflects best practice and has been developed with the support of expert external legal and governance advice. It positions our organisation to be a modern and contemporary industry association with members at its core.
Here are some key proposed changes to our Constitution:
- Refinement of objects to remove outdated language and repetition
- Streamlining of membership categories
- Removal of obsolete terms, including references to Ministerial Approval and National Council
- Provision for an RA Board of 12 Directors of which 7 are elected and 5 are directly appointed
- Process to allow Board to elect a Chair from the 12 elected members for a two-year term
Members will have an opportunity to attend two open sessions on Zoom regarding the new Constitution. We invite you to REGISTER and participate in one of the sessions available.
