Together with our partner Arcadis, RA is taking the opportunity provided by Sydney hosting WorldPride 2023 to showcase some of the ways our industry is working to create a more welcoming culture for LGBTQIA+ people.

Our roads and streets are about more than just moving from place to place. As Sydney’s Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras has powerfully demonstrated for over four decades, they are also used for celebration, protests and to bring diverse communities together.

With Sydney the home of many of Australia’s largest transport infrastructure businesses, and with significant transport projects underway across the city, this is an opportunity to show our industry’s support for this historic international event and, more importantly, drive changes that will ensure our workforce is a safe and inclusive one for LGBTQIA+ people.

For this event, our topic will be “Planning for WorldPride”, with a panel discussion that explores the design and planning of streets that facilitate social cohesion and community interaction.
