Beyond the technology of the vehicles we will use to move people and freight in the future, and the charging facilities they require, Arcadis is driven by the need to reimagine the road space to create places for people, accommodate increases in micro mobility and make our mobility corridors greener. As the Global Solution Director for New Mobility at Arcadis, Simon Swan led the pioneering major rollout of electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure in the UK and Europe and has provided EV Strategies for multiple local governments and fleets. Simon is passionate about impacting how we travel and will delve into global approaches and insights for the assessment and creation of mobility corridors (land, sea and air) that may be used to inform how we tackle the Australian transport network, ensuring we leave a legacy for future generations and their travel needs.

This panel conversation will explore developing a systems-based approach to preparing for a net-zero transport future.

This session will consider how to leap-frog recycling targets and deliver a circular approach to resource requirements in infrastructure.

In December 2022, RA released the Procurement Reform Report Update: Momentum for a sustainable transport sector

This panel conversation will include perspectives from both government and industry that highlight progress on procurement reform to date. We’ll also consider which recommendations in the report should most urgently be prioritised in the current economic climate, so that governments, industry and the community get the best possible return from transport infrastructure projects.

Members of RA’s Road Worker Safety Working Group will examine opportunities and innovations that can accelerate industry’s efforts to meet the objective of zero deaths and injuries.

Customers are increasingly demanding action to address cost of living and decarbonisation imperatives. This session will examine how the transport sector is responding to changing demographics and customer expectations. We’ll also consider opportunities that technology-based solutions offer to customer-centric organisations engaged in the design and delivery of transport solutions.
