Procurement reform Policy Insight released

Roads Australia has released its Policy Insight paper from a webinar held earlier in the year, “Procurement reform – Sharing our successes.”

Webinar attendees heard from the following speakers:

  • Corey Hannett – Director General at Major Transport Infrastructure Authority, Victoria;
  • Neil Scales OBE – Director-General, Department of Transport and Main Roads, Queensland;
  • James Sherrard – Head of Commercial, Performance and Strategy, Transport for New South Wales.

Reflected in the Policy Insight is the need to enhance and streamline collaboration between the public and private sectors, aligning capacity constraints with demand for transport infrastructure.

With significant procurement challenges facing the transport and construction industries including labour shortages, cost increases and broader economic factors, the webinar provided a timely opportunity for government representatives to update industry on their transport infrastructure delivery challenges.

The webinar was developed following the release of RA’s Procurement Reform Report Update in December of 2022, highlighting the growing global challenges and infrastructure pipeline across Australia.
