RA Fellows Multi-state | Jennifer Grace & Stuart Cook | (BNE)
Join us for an insightful conversation about to get the most of of mentoring.
Jennifer Grace, Executive Director, Maritime Infrastructure, Maritime Safety Queensland and Stuart Cook, Chair of RA's Future Leaders Committee and QLD Transport Lead, BG&E Consulting Engineers will reflect on their own experiences of managing the mentor/mentee relationship. They'll discuss how they overcame some initial challenges to establish their rapport, and went on to build a productive and mutually supportive dialogue that continues to this day.
In 2018, Stuart Cook had a busy year. He was awarded both the Queensland and Australian Young Professional Engineer of the Year, and the Future Leaders Award (Consult Australia). He was also accepted into the RA Fellowship Program, where he was partnered with his mentor, Jennifer Grace.
Jennifer's impressive career began with the Environmental Protection Agency in 2003. She then spent a year in Berlin in diplomatic service, before returning to join the Department of Transport and Main Roads in 2007. In 2013 she was appointed Chief Operations Officer and in 2019 she took on her current role. Curious, highly-educated and altruistic, Jennifer was awarded a National Emergency Medal for service performed during Tropical Cyclone Debbie in 2017.
