Andrew Excell: Deputy Chief Executive, Executive Director, Transport Strategy and Planning, Department for Infrastructure and Transport

Andrew Excell has over 30 years experience in the areas of regional road operations, delivery of major infrastructure projects, metropolitan road network management and Portfolio, Program and Project Management. He has held various roles in Senior Management within DIT from the Regional Manager Metropolitan Region, Manager of Traffic Operations including the Traffic Management Centre, Director of the Portfolio, Program and Project Management Office, Director, Transport Network and Investment Strategy and currently Executive Director, Transport Strategy and Planning Division.

In his current role he is accountable for the development of longer-term strategies for the development of the transport system to improve mobility and productivity across South Australia and for developing a pipeline of viable infrastructure projects

Following the keynote, there will be a panel session with Andrew Excell, Jeremy Conway and Amy Child.

Jeremy Conway, Chief Executive, Infrastructure Australia

As Chief Executive of Infrastructure SA, Jeremy has led development of the State’s 20-year infrastructure strategy and is responsible for providing independent advice to the South Australian Government on infrastructure projects and prioritisation.

His team has a strong focus on evidence-based decision-making and seeks to improve the maturity of infrastructure planning and investment across government. Infrastructure SA also aims to identify projects that deliver benefits for all South Australians by adopting a state-wide cross-sectoral lens.

This is aided by Jeremy’s deep experience in both the public and private sectors. He has held senior roles at the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure and Department for the Premier and Cabinet; meanwhile his vast commercial and business experience comes from having worked in property development at Places Victoria for three years and in private equity CVC Capital Partners in London for nine years.

Amy Child, Transport Leader SA, Mott MacDonald
Amy Child is a seasoned transport infrastructure leader with over 23 years of global experience in planning, development, and delivery across road and rail sectors. Currently serving as Transport Leader for South Australia at Mott MacDonald, Amy brings a strategic and innovative mindset to shaping smarter, more connected, and inclusive communities.

Her career spans senior roles in both the public and private sectors, including leadership positions at the Victorian Department of Transport and Planning, AECOM, Arup, and the City of Perth. Amy has played pivotal roles in transformative projects such as the Suburban Rail Loop, North East Link and Optus Stadium, consistently delivering superior outcomes through collaboration and stakeholder engagement.

Domenic De Fazio is the Chief Operating Officer at BildGroup. With more than 30 years’ experience in engineering and infrastructure across Australia and New Zealand, Domenic has led major projects in road, rail, airport, water and energy. His career includes senior roles at Transfield, Fulton Hogan, Broadspectrum and Ventia, from General Manager to CEO. He’s passionate about great leadership, building high-performing teams, and creating a culture of care and purpose. Today, he brings that same drive and experience to his role at BildGroup. Helping shape the future of infrastructure delivery through strong strategy, innovation and values-driven leadership.

Refund policy

Cancellations should be notified in writing by email. Cancellations received prior to one week before the event will receive a full refund less 25%. No refund will be applicable for cancellations received after one week prior to the event although substitute delegates are welcomed
