RA members Acciona, Fulton Hogan, and John Holland have been shortlisted by the NSW Government as tenderers to design and construct the New England Highway bypass at Singleton.

The project is being supported by investments of $560 million from the Federal Government and $140 million from the NSW Government. The 8 kilometre bypass is expected to remove about 15,000 vehicles a day from the Singleton town centre, alleviate congestion and improve road safety.

The project will support 1300 jobs during its construction phase, and once completed will allow users to bypass five sets of traffic lights in Singleton, delivering more efficient journey times for vehicles on this key freight and passenger route.

The contract is expected to be awarded in mid-2023, with the new bypass expected to be open to traffic in late 2026.
