Roads Australia welcomes leading public servants to Board

Roads Australia (RA) has announced the appointment of Jim Betts, Kevin Devlin and Sally Stannard to the RA Board as appointed members, replacing outgoing members Corey Hannett, Gillian Miles and Sergio Cinerari.

Jim Betts, currently Secretary at the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts, brings decades of public sector transport and infrastructure experience to RA, having led departments in Victoria and New South Wales in addition to time overseeing Infrastructure NSW as CEO.

Kevin Devlin was appointed Director General of Major Transport Infrastructure Authority earlier this year after eight years as CEO of the innovative Level Crossing Removal Project. Kevin’s experience in the transport sector includes roles in both the public and private sector across two and a half decades.

Sally Stannard is the Acting Director General of Queensland’s Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR). Sally has worked in senior leadership positions within TMR for more than a decade, alongside experience in education and healthcare in Director roles.

RA President Aneetha de Silva said the new Board members bring with them a wealth of experience and will add significant value to the ongoing work of RA.

“Jim, Kevin and Sally lead the delivery of major infrastructure across their respective jurisdictions and bring decades of transport and infrastructure experience to Roads Australia,” Ms de Silva said.

“As the transport sector faces challenges at both a national and global level, RA continues to be well placed to negotiate these issues, through collaboration between industry and government, further supported by the appointments of leading public servants to the RA Board.

“With complex challenges and opportunities right across the transport sector, RA is pleased to continue bringing together transport leaders to tackle these issues and grasp new opportunities.

“I look forward to working with Jim, Kevin and Sally to continue strengthening collaboration between industry and government, delivering integrated transport alongside RA’s member organisations.

“I would also like to pass on my gratitude to Corey Hannett, Gillian Miles and Sergio Cinerari for their invaluable service to the RA Board.”
