RA’s Director – Policy Royce Christie met with the Hon. David Elliott MP, NSW Minister for Transport last week to discuss RA’s research report, Investigating the Social Licence for Buses in Australia.
The report was the result of engaging with 2,400 people across Melbourne, Sydney and South East Queensland to ascertain their view on the positives and negatives of buses as a mode of public transport.
The meeting explored ways in which Sydney’s bus networks can be used to accelerate decarbonisation of our transport networks and improve people’s connections to jobs and services in NSW.
Acting on the findings in the research will be important in order to build support for investment in improved bus timetables and infrastructure.
