Unlocking productivity in infrastructure delivery

RA has made a submission to the Productivity Commission’s 2022 Productivity Inquiry, putting forward several recommendations that would help industry to improve project delivery.

When the right infrastructure is built and maintained properly it can produce significant productivity improvements. But we also need to ensure that the construction and maintenance of that infrastructure is also benefiting from improved productivity measures.

The submission sets out how this can be achieved across a range of areas, including procurement, asset management, improving industry’s capacity to collect and use data, road pricing reform and pursuing opportunities in the circular economy.

Our recommendations will enable industry to deliver productivity improving projects more efficiently and deliver a wider range of economic and environmental benefits to the community. They will also improve the capacity of our industry’s workforce by allowing it to become more skilled and diverse.
