Road safety in the spotlight at World Safety 2022

World Safety 2022 is a global event hosted by the World Health Organisation and this year will be convened by the Public Health Association of Australia (PHAA) in Adelaide from Sunday November 27-30.

Road safety will be a very big part of the program and as the road safety world gathers in-person again there will be great opportunities to reconnect and reinvigorate with your global partners, clients, customers and stakeholders in Adelaide.  The event will also provide valuable insights to all areas of injury prevention that can open up new partnerships and inspiration for the future.

Throughout the conference, there is a road safety thread throughout the Plenary Session, State-of-the-Art Spotlight Sessions and workshops.

The conference will address many road safety issues and topics which will make the event a great opportunity for RA members:

  • 594 abstracts submitted and 100 of these abstract submissions relate to road safety
  • One State-of-the-Art Session focussed specifically on road safety and how we can reach Vision Zero
  • 26 concurrent sessions with road safety content in each time slot that includes four dedicated road safety sessions and one specifically for lower-middle-income countries
  • Nine in-person workshops relating solely to road safety that include events led by the Johns Hopkins University, Safe Kids Worldwide, Global Road Safety Partnership, George Institute, Global Health Advocacy Incubator and the Automotive Coalition for Traffic Safety amongst others.

You can register here – and also contact Mandy Winter if you would like to join as a sponsor and exhibitor (see the prospectus here).
