Roads Australia has released a Policy Insight document following a series of International Women’s Day (IWD) lunches hosted by the organisation earlier this year.
With construction and transport among the most male-dominated industries in the nation, IWD events form part of RA’s commitment to support measures that build a more diverse and representative industry.
With lunches in every state capital held on March 9, a diverse range of speakers highlighted the progress being made in gender representation, examples of incorporating diversity into everyday practice and opportunities to work towards a more inclusive transport sector.
Included in the Policy Insight are speaker quotes from across the nation, pictures from events and summaries of the key themes discussed by keynote speakers and in panel discussions.
Front of mind for speakers was the broad range of career pathways within the transport sector and the positive stories that need to be shared to attract more women to the industry and continue to progress towards a more representative workforce.
