Transport for NSW (TfNSW) has launched a new TV, radio and social media campaign reinforcing the importance of slowing down around road work sites to protect road workers.
The campaign features workers on real work sites across NSW and will target regional areas, as the number of active road work sites across the state increases due to flood recovery works, as well as the significant pipeline of regional road infrastructure projects now being delivered.
The advertisements highlight the difference between what drivers can and can’t see when travelling at different speeds, encouraging motorists to slow down and protect road workers who are dedicated to providing safe road infrastrucutre for the community.
Between 2016 and 2020, there were 39 people killed or injured in road crashes in NSW that involved road workers, and around 44 per cent of casualties occurred in regional areas.
