The Federal and NSW Governments have announced tenders for the New Dubbo Bridge project will be open for eight weeks from 28 April.
The $220 million project is expected to commence construction at the beginning of 2023, with works intended to alleviate traffic congestion and improve the resilience of road infrastructure for passenger and freight vehicles in the region.
As well as these improved efficiency and safety outcomes, the New Dubbo Bridge is expected to generate 290 direct and 1200 indirect jobs during its delivery. Local businesses and suppliers interested in opportunities to engage with the project are encouraged to provide their details via the Industry Capability Network Gateway.
The project will be delivered in stages to minimise disruption to the community in Dubbo and traffic on the Newell Highway. A program of early works to support the main road and bridge construction are also scheduled to begin this year.
A mandatory pre-tender meeting for all prospective pre-qualified tenderers (including a site inspection) will be held in May 2022.
