NZ road maintenance contracts go to Downer

RA member Downer has been awarded two of Auckland’s key road maintenance contracts, valued at around $800 million.

The agreement will see Downer responsible for both Auckland Transport’s Central network and North Rural network, delivering maintenance and renewal activities and emergency repairs for an initial period of five years, with the option for a further extension of five years on both contracts.

The new agreements build on Downer’s working relationship with Auckland Transport, which includes the delivery of the award-winning Downtown Program.

Chief Executive Officer of Downer, Grant Fenn, said:

“Downer maintains 28,000 kilometres of roads across Australia and 25,000 kilometres across New Zealand.”

“Downer has been maintaining roads in Auckland for more than 30 years, and we look forward to continue working closely with Auckland Transport to deliver reliable road networks to ensure efficient and safe journeys.”
