RA members to deliver key section of Inland Rail

Major progress on Inland Rail in Queensland this week, as ARTC Inland Rail appointed Regionerate Rail, a consortium that includes RA members Service Stream, GS Engineering and Construction, Clough and Webuild to develop and maintain the Gowrie to Kagaru section of the Inland Rail.

This 128 km of new and upgraded rail track represents the most geographically challenging section of the 1700km rail line between Brisbane and Melbourne. It includes a 6.2km tunnel through the Great Dividing Range, which when complete will be the largest diameter freight tunnel in the southern hemisphere.

The Public Private Partnership (PPP) contract also incorporates a 25-year maintenance phase post construction, which will be lead by Service Stream.
