SA industry comes together to hear Minister Mullighan

Feb 1, 2016 – South Australian Transport and Infrastructure Minister, Stephen Mullighan, was guest speaker at our January Board Dinner, held in Adelaide last week in conjunction with the RA Board’s annual planning workshop.

Minister Mullighan addressed some 50 senior industry and agency leaders from around Australia on some of the transport challenges facing not just his State, but Australia as a whole.

Earlier in the day, our Board members met with Federal, state and territory roads and transport agency leaders to discuss policy priorities for the coming year. Each year RA's policy priorities are shaped at these key workshop sessions.

This year's priorities are focussed around the transport challenges and opportunities associated with creating more liveable cities; building public confidence in the value of infrastructure; addressing the 'disruptive mechanisms' that stand in the way of more efficient procurement and delivery of infrastructure, as well as more efficient use of the road network; safety at road worksites; land transport market reform; and asset management and maintenance.

Our Policy Chapter workshops this year will be focussed on achieving positive and practical outcomes that advance each of these issues. Watch this space for more information.
