Webuild acquires Clough in Australia and PNG

RA member Webuild has acquired 100 per cent of the ownership of Clough in Australia and Papua New Guinea. This includes Clough’s organisation, offices, trademarks, credentials, business references, senior management, and office personnel and more than AUD$6 billion worth of projects in backlog (as of end 2022), and the related project workforce in Australia and PNG.

The agreement secures Clough’s operational continuity, the employment of its people, as well as the development of both Clough and Webuild in Australia. It also provides certainly for significant infrastructure projects being delivered in Australia, including Snowy 2.0 and the Gowrie-Kagaru section of Inland Rail.

The combined group will become one of the biggest companies in Australia for the construction of complex infrastructure, with more than 3,000 employees in the country. In the 50 countries where the combined group operates, the workforce will total 83,000.

Webuild is already engaged in the delivery of other significant transport projects in Australia, including Sydney Metro-Western Sydney Airport and Victoria’s North East Link Program.
