The Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia (NSW and ACT) has announced the appointment of David Elliott as Chief Executive Officer.
Institute President, Grant Baker, said the appointment concluded an exhaustive search and he welcomes Mr Elliott’s addition to the peak body.
“The Board concluded that David’s previous experience as a Member of Parliament, Cabinet Minister and Chief Executive of the Civil Contractors Federation (NSW) means that he is well equipped to implement the Institute’s strategic plan and enhance its relationship with stakeholders across the broader infrastructure portfolio.” Mr Baker said.
Mr Elliott said he was thrilled to be returning to the engineering fraternity at a time when road construction, disaster recovery and the skills shortage are at the forefront of public policy debates.
“Having worked alongside the Institute for many years in varying capacities I am very much looking forward to leading the NSW and ACT Division. Professional associations and peak bodies are very much the lifeblood of any vocation, and I will be working to make sure the Institute has a bigger seat at the infrastructure table whilst ensuring the ongoing development and appeal of the engineering profession is well represented.” Mr Elliott said.
